Boarding

Why choose Shelak Kennels to care for your dog?

Whilst we understand boarding your dog can be a stressful experience for both you and your pet, the excellent staff and facilities at Shelak Kennels will help to put your mind at rest. We offer:

  • An excellent staff to dog ratio. This ensures that your dog receives regular one-to-one care and attention.
  • Regular exercise in our 5 acre fully secure paddock. Maintaining regular exercise will stimulate your dog helping to relieve tension and reduce stress.
  • A countryside location which means that our kennels are situated in a quiet, peaceful environment which aids in the relaxation of your dog.

  • Larger kennels which are bright, airy, fully heated and air conditioned to ensure your dog remains comfortable. We also use radios for background noise which we have found helps to calm the dogs.
  • Dedicated staff with many years experience caring for dogs. Most of our staff are owners themselves with several devoting much of their free time to dog rescue charities such as Stafford Welfare and Greyhound Rescue.
  • Kennels fully licensed by the local council and Environmental Health Agency.
  • Kennels which are fully insured.
  • A long list of satisfied customers and dogs who come back to Shelak year after year. Please see our Testimonials for more.

Boarding Kennel Fees are as follows:

  • £22 per dog per 24 hour stay.
  • £35 for 2 dogs sharing (10% discount).

All dogs are required to be microchipped and have a current DHLP vaccination (Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis and Parvovirus) and are requested to show a certificate on boarding their pet. Owners are advised to seek veterinary guidence on kennel cough vaccinations. Fees are inclusive of Insurance and tax.

We ask that new clients view our kennels and talk to the staff about their pets requirements.

A deposit of £20 is requested to secure a booking which is deducted from the final account.
